Bad vs. Good Composition

This first image to the left has bad background composition. I know this because it shows the outline of the shadow of the window. It also, shows the corners of the table which is not something that a picture should be focused on. I would crop this picture to add the rule of thirds. This could be better if the picture was zoomed in or cropped.
The second image has great background composition. This could be a balanced because it has a shadow that balances the picture and it follows the rule of thirds. the image portrays a mug with some sort of drink in it such as coffee. The genre is Daily Life. I noticed that the picture was cropped and the new picture had a different view point than the one with bad composition.
